I cannot understand what I'm supposed to do in this game.

you leave the base to collect helpers and with the helpers you upgrade the base and fix it. once you have done that every 5 mins pirates will come and destroy it i am adding more stuff as this game is pre release

I honestly expected this to be the GBA version of Alien Hominid running on a GBA emulator, but I'd rather be playing that.

If it weren't for the lack of sound and enemies this would be a nice metroidvania and I'd recommend to more people, even if the platforming is a little difficult to handle.

Graphics and music are good, but the controls really need to be improved. You move and attack slowly, making it difficult to avoid taking damage. I had this sort of problem when I played the prequel last year, except that was a platformer.

Nice to hear from someone who played both. Yep controllers were a complex one to define, the intention was to make the gameplay more about reacting to enemies, so attacking is not as 'free', and I agree that movement could be smoother, if it feels stiff then it's not ideal, so it's time to keep looking for that sweet spot.

If you are using Chrome it may be happening because "Block third-party cookies and site data" is checked in Chrome's "Content Settings"

For a PICO 8 game, this is pretty basic. All you do is walk around and eat beans. Maybe if there were some enemies running around to stop you from building up a combo of eating beans, or some other form of challenge, this wouldn't be as boring. Cutscenes were nice though.

Looks a whole lot better than the original, which was also very basic.

Could also use some music as well.
